2017 48 Hour Film Entry: Post Factor2017 was our seventh 48 Hour Film Project campaign, and the fifth time we tried a Kickstarter campaign to raise some money to fund the film. We again set out with the same $700 goal that seems to work for us. 19 backers contributed an average of $65 apiece to launch us to our third largest total ($1241). As expected, most of our backers were folks who've backed our projects before, but we also attracted a few newbies (including a complete stranger from Nashville and another mysterious big-time backer who would not reveal his or her identity). Such an amazing feeling every year to have the support from everyone, thanks to those who pitched in.
Our movie was screened Saturday July 15th, 2017 at 7:30pm at the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring, MD.
On July 29, 2017 we were honored to learn that the film had been selected as one of 18 films to be included in the "Best of DC" re-screening on August 4, 2017. The morning of the re-screening, we were blown away to learn that our movie had been nominated for five out of the 24 awards they were giving out after the screening: Best Comedy, Best Graphics, Best Use Of Prop, Best Use Of Character and Best Actress (Melrose Pyne). After the re-screening when the awards were announced, we were so happy to hear that we had won for Best Use Of Prop.
As has become tradition, we're working on a Director's Cut that will be linked here once complete. |

2016 48 Hour Film Entry: Two For One2016 was our sixth 48 Hour Film Project campaign, and the fourth time we tried a Kickstarter campaign to raise some money to fund the film. The battle-tested $700 goal was deemed just enough to get us to our minimums. Naturally, 22 people proceeded to get us to a much more comfortable level, pledging $1218. The generosity of our returning backers (along with a couple of newbies) brings us great joy every year.
Our movie was screened Friday May 6th, 2016 at 9:45pm at the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring, MD.

2015 48 Hour Film Entry: Unmasked2015 was our fifth 48 Hour Film Project campaign, and the third time we tried a Kickstarter campaign to raise some money to fund the film. The 2014 goal of $700 was deemed just enough to get us to our minimums. Naturally, 21 people proceeded to double that goal exactly, pledging $1400. The generosity of our family, friends and a couple of charitable strangers continues to leave us flabbergasted.
Our movie was screened Saturday May 9th, 2015 at 9:45pm at the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring, MD. At the end of the screening, there was a contest to see which of the 12 teams in attendance had the most spirit. Ours was the largest, most spirited (i.e. "loudest") team, so we won the Spirit Award for Screening Group F.
This meant we were in the running to win the title of Spirit Award Grand Champion. All we needed was for our picture as posted on Facebook to get more likes than any other screening group by Friday May 15th, 2015 at 8pm. Our friends and family obliged once again, blasting us to the title.
A few hours later, we were honored to learn that the film had been selected as one of 24 films to be included in the "Best of DC" re-screening on May 29, 2015.
It used to be that IMDB did not list films created for the 48 Hour Film Project, but at some point this rule must have been relaxed. As a result, this is our first movie to have its own IMDB page.

2012 48 Hour Film Entry: The Quota2012 was our second 48 Hour Film Project campaign. Our team more than doubled in size, we added a second camera to the mix, and we took stock of our 2011 notes so we wouldn't make the same mistakes. We decided to make some of those mistakes again.
